Get at least one night at Universal Resort so you can use your room key to get express access to the rides. +1 Kevin A lot depends on how much your willing to spend. Depending on the time of the year your going to the theme parks, I’d recommend anything from 5-14 days in the Orlando area.

If your going during the “Busy Season” (Mid-April thru August and Thanksgiving thru New Years) you’ll want more time to see everything. If your going during downtime, it won’t be as busy and you can see/do more during your time. Depending on where your located, keep it mind it’s always cheaper to drive then to fly.

If your willing to drive you’ll save money and not have to worry about a rental car. For example, I’m outside of Pittsburgh, PA. It’s about $300 round trip for my husband and I to drive to Orlando. Airfare is $500 plus $40 a day for a rental car, we always drive.

Plus we don’t have to worry about luggage as we can haul as much as we want to and from Florida with us. Provided money isn’t a big problem, I’d recommend a Disney Resort hotel. If your looking for good value in a hotel, since you won’t be spending much time in it anyway, I’d suggest staying off-property.

Their are plenty of good hotels within easy driving distance of the parks. You could look at Kissimmee and International Drive. With park tickets, the more days you buy the more you’ll save. Personally I always go with a 4 day with park hopper at Disney World and a 4 day with park hopper at Universal.

  • If your looking to save money you can drop the park hopper option but you’ll need 4 days to see all the Disney parks then.
  • Seaworld you’ll want 1 or 2 days at (again depending on time of year) and 1 day at LegoLand.
  • Eep in mind Kennedy Space Center is about an hour drive from Orlando, so you’ll need to plan for that.
