What are CPL points?

Point list Cpl 2022 Points Table The Canada Points List (CPL) is a ranking tool for athlete performance. It uses race results and calculations to provide a consistent and reliable performance measure relative to other skiers at different ages and stages of development. The CPL is a useful development tool for coaches and athletes.

  1. For others, it offers important decision-making information.
  2. Race points are based off of a skier’s time behind the race winners time, taking into consideration the depth and quality of field.
  3. International FIS races and domestic race results are taken into consideration.

CPL reports are interactive. You can sort the list by name or rank and click on a racer’s license number to see the races under consideration. For seeding lists that are produced periodically over the season (normally five periods) the Distance CPL is the average of the best seven results and the Sprint CPL is the average of the best four.

Only races in the previous 12 months are eligible. Sometimes ad hoc ranking lists are posted for a specific team or trip selection; the number of races and which races are included will be determined by the relevant selection criteria. Nordiq Canada encourages athletes and coaches to check the lists for accuracy.

How many points is a win in CPL?

CPL Regular Season –

  • Each Club will play a total of 28 matches during the 2023 League Season, 14 at home and 14 away.
  • The 2023 League Season will begin on April 15, 2023 with the final match day being played on October 7, 2023.
  • The 2023 League Season will be played under a single table format.
  • Clubs will receive three points for a win, one point for a tie and zero points for a loss.

How many points is a win?

In football (soccer), match points are used to determine the ranking of teams in a league or tournament. Match points are typically awarded as follows: 3 points for a win.

Is CPL profitable?

With the league ex­pect­ed to get un­der­way in the first week of Au­gust, Guardian Me­dia un­der­stands that talks are in progress with a po­ten­tial buy­er from In­dia but noth­ing is con­crete just yet.

  • CPL has been pump­ing mon­ey in­to the prod­uct since the in­cep­tion in 2014 and is yet to turn around a prof­it.
  • What they have done though is cre­ate a prod­uct that is now a vi­able one and a sale at this point in time could fetch them a hand­some amount, to off­set the funds they would have pumped in­to the league.

On­ly last year, all six teams were picked up by own­ers and pri­or to this CPL had to bankroll the teams that had no own­ers. This cost a hand­some amount and with re­gion­al gov­ern­ments not com­ing on board as be­fore be­cause of the cur­rent eco­nom­ic cli­mate in the Caribbean, the busi­ness mod­el has been strug­gling.

Cheif Ex­ec­u­tive Of­fi­cer (CEO) Dami­an O’dono­hue said that last year would have been a prof­itable one for the CPL but it was not. He men­tioned pri­or to last year’s tour­na­ment that CPL had al­ready in­vest­ed US$20 mil­lion. He added that even in the long term a re­al­is­tic prof­it will be two to three mil­lion a year.

With the help of In­di­an in­vest­ment the CPL has moved on from hum­ble be­gin­nings, when the mar­quee spon­sors be­sides Dig­i­cel were an elec­tron­ics store called Courts and a skin ton­ic called Li­ma­col. The tour­na­ment has now at­tract­ed much juici­er en­dorse­ment from Hero Mo­to­corp, the world’s largest man­u­fac­tur­er of mo­tor­cy­cles.

That the 2015 tro­phy was lift­ed by the Trinidad & To­ba­go Red Steel was con­ve­nient for or­gan­is­ers as that fran­chise was re­cent­ly ac­quired by the own­ers (Bol­ly­wood star Shah Rukh Khan among them) of Kolkata Knight Rid­ers, one of the IPL sides that is as yet un­af­fect­ed by the cur­rent cor­rup­tion saga ham­per­ing that league.

Is CPL a success?

The 2022 Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL) generated a huge economic impact for the countries who hosted matches with a total figure of US$200,935,772, a 47% increase on the amount generated during the 2019 tournament, the last time the Hero CPL travelled around the region.

  1. The total direct economic impact on the region from Hero CPL 2022 was US$134,686,551 with an additional US$66,250,232 in sponsorship value as a result of the Hero CPL broadcast which was watched by over 700million viewers in 2022.
  2. The four countries who held Hero CPL matches were St Kitts & Nevis, Saint Lucia, Trinidad & Tobago and Guyana.

St Kitts & Nevis also hosted the first running of the Massy Women’s CPL (WCPL) and the SKYEXCH 6IXTY. The tournament has created jobs and generated income in all of these countries as the Caribbean continues to be central to the success of the Hero CPL.

  • The rise in economic impact has, in part, been driven by the change to the tournament structure that now sees all six teams, TV production crew and tournament staff travelling around the region as one cohort, spending more time in each of the host countries.
  • With more matches being played per host country, travelling fans are now offered even greater value to come and watch the Hero CPL and as a result there was a significant increase in international arrivals across the tournament in 2022.

This figure was generated by independent, world-renowned research company, YouGov Sport. This figure takes into account the total spent by Hero CPL to put on the 2022 event, the value of media exposure for the country from the broadcast of matches and the money spent with local business by those who travelled around the region for the tournament.

  1. The Hero CPL was responsible for filling 54,702 hotel nights across the region, with players, TV crew, CPL and franchise staff and other visitors all helping to generate further revenue for local businesses and suppliers.
  2. The total viewership for the 2022 Hero CPL was a record 721.8million, a record for the tournament.

This is the third successive year that the tournament has generated a viewership figure of over half a billion. This increase in viewership gave even more exposure to host countries throughout the tournament, adding further value to hosting Hero CPL matches.

Pete Russell, Hero CPL’s CEO, said: “The value that Hero CPL brings to host countries has been long established but for the economic impact of the tournament to pass US$200million for the first time is another milestone in the decade long history of the event. Hero CPL creates jobs, fills hotel rooms, boosts tourism and attracts visitors into host countries, both during the tournament and beyond.

We are very excited to see this Caribbean product continue to grow its global reach while still hugely benefiting the region.”

The innings was led by Usman Khan who scored the fastest century of the tournament. Khan reached the milestone in just 36 deliveries before getting dismissed on 120 runs off 43 balls. Captain Mohammad Rizwan also notched a half-century, scoring 55 runs off 29 deliveries before Tim David’s late flourish got the side past 250 runs.
