Part 2. Lock iPhone Photos Using Notes – Apart from locking the iPhone photos from the Album itself, there is another unique way to hide it from prying eyes. Notes app is actually an essential feature on our devices which allows us to write down important stuff and not miss any detail, in any case. One of its excellent features is hiding photos. Yup, you can use the Notes app to lock up those confidential pictures. After the release of iOS 9.3, an excellent feature of allowing you to lock notes have been added. From here you can add important files such as photos.

• Open the desired photo to lock
• Tap the Share icon at the lower left
• Select Notes. If you have set iCloud as your default Notes account, you need to move the Note with the secret photo to your On My iPhone account. You can find it by going to the iCloud Notes folder. From here, tap Edit and choose notes, and then tap Move To and select On My iPhone.
• Lastly, open the exact note with the photo inside, tap the Share icon and then tap Lock this Note

After transferring and locking the photos in the Notes app, you need to delete the original photos from the Photos app. Don’t forget to remove it as well from the Recently Deleted folder, or else, it will stay in that folder for 30 days.

1. Go to the Settings app on your iPhone.

How to Hide Photos in iOS 16 – The iOS 16 system update has brought a lot of changes and new features to the iPhone, both big and small. One of them is a pretty significant change to how hiding photos works, making it much more secure by default. Now, the Hidden album in the Photos app is locked, requiring you to use a passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID to access it.

1. Start by opening the Photos app and navigating to the album or area of your photos timeline with the photo you want to hide.
2. When you’ve found the photo you want to hide, give it a tap to open it.
3. With the photo open, tap the icon that looks like three dots in a circle in the upper right corner.
4. This will open a menu of various things you can do with the photo. Tap the open that says Hide,
5. A small confirmation window will open at the bottom of the screen with some information about what hiding a photo means. After reading, tap Hide Photo to confirm.
6. The photo will disappear from your normal photos collection, but you can still find it in the Hidden album. Go to your albums list by closing any open photo and tapping the Albums tab icon at the bottom of the screen. Here, scroll all the way down to the bottom to find the group of albums under the heading Utilities. One of these will be the Hidden album. Tap it.
7. In iOS 16, the Hidden album is locked by default. If you use Face ID, the Hidden album will attempt to unlock automatically when you try to open it; otherwise, you can tap View Album to unlock it.

Once unlocked, you can work with the photos there in the same way you would any others. This is also where you can unhide your photos if you like, through the same menu you used to hide them.
