Distance from Universal Studios to Disneyland – Disneyland Park in Anaheim is approximately 35 miles (56 km) from Universal Studios Hollywood, and since both parks are near freeway exits, driving time should usually be 35 to 40 minutes. Unfortunately, it takes much longer because the highway corridor between Los Angeles and Anaheim is congested.

Depending on the traffic when you start from Universal Studios, it can take you 90 minutes to two hours to get to Disneyland. How Far is Universal Studios from Disneyland? If you’re touring California for Disneyland, consider adding Universal Studios to your bucket list. Although these theme parks are considerably smaller than parks around here, they’re worth the adventure. You’ll quickly get over the small size of the parks if you’re a Disney and Universal Studio fan.

Disneyland is packed with numerous rides inside the park, while Universal Studios has some real Hollywood studios for filming movies. The latter is also conveniently placed within the rolling hills of Hollywood. The incredibly beautiful landscape makes for a gorgeous backdrop of the theme park. The question that you might be asking yourself is how far the two places are from each other.

There’s a 35-mile difference between Disneyland and Universal Studios, which is about an hour and a half drive. Considering the traffic in Los Angeles, the trip could take up to two hours. Remember that Universal Studios Hollywood is different from, The one in Florida is closer by, being only 20 minutes away from Disney World.

I have two different vacation plans depending on your wants and needs. First, let’s talk about both destinations.

Walt Disney World has four main theme parks and two water parks. Universal Studios has two main theme parks and one water park. If you have just a week to visit both, it can be a busy vacation to fit it all in, but it can be done. If you were just to visit Walt Disney World, then I would recommend at least six days.

• That way you can visit each park once and have two days to travel.
• And I really recommend seven days so that you can take a break from the parks one day to just enjoy your resort.
• And that doesn’t include Disney’s water parks, so I would add a day if you wanted to visit one of those.
• For Universal Studios you’ll need at least two days in the parks, but three is ideal.

And then add another day if you wanted to visit their water park. If you want to visit both destinations in one trip, there are two ways that I would recommend. If you just want to visit the two main Universal parks in one day, then I would stay at Walt Disney World for your entire stay and travel to Universal for just the day. However, if you want a few more days at Universal Studios, or maybe you want to visit Universal’s water park too, I would recommend a split stay. Stay a few days at a Disney resort and visit those parks, and then move to a Universal resort for the rest of your stay.

1. For that reason, we recommend devoting a minimum of a full day to each Universal Orlando theme park, especially if this is your first visit.
2. Three days is ideal, particularly with a park-to-park pass, as it will allow you to fully explore each park and revisit your favorite attractions.
3. A highlights tour of both parks can be done in one long day, but it would be tiring and you would miss many delightful smaller attractions.

In California, you get to Hogwarts by passing through the Forbidden Forest outside of Hogsmeade. You can even see the remnants of Mr. Weasley’s muggle car after its encounter with the Whomping Willow. Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey is an intense attraction in Florida, but the one on the west coast is even more intense because it is the same attraction, but in 3D and HD. The actual seats on Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey in Florida feature different sizes, only allowing larger (regular adult sized riders) to use select seats. In Florida, both the Frog Choir and the TriWizard Spirit Rally were added after the plans were completed for the park. Because of the shows’ success on the east coast, the shows were part of original plans for the California park, and a stage to highlight the live entertainment was built. In Florida, the shows take place on the street level. The Flight of the Hippogriff in California has individual lap bars while the one in Florida has one lap bar for the entire car. The California version also has two more seats per train, which is great news for those waiting in line in Hollywood. There are two Ollivanders locations in Florida; one on the Hogsmeade side and one on the Diagon Alley side. In California there is only one Ollivanders, but it is an extra special one that has two showrooms. Guests enter in one main area lined with wand boxes. And to be efficient, you should plot your path before you begin the day – you’ll have a lot of ground to cover. You’ll also be surprised at how exhausted (and sore) you are by the end of each day. A good pair of walking shoes is essential. While you can tour Orlando’s individual neighborhoods by foot, you’ll need a car to get from one to the other.
Car	Although your car will stay in the parking lot once you’re on theme park grounds, a vehicle is the most convenient way to explore Orlando. Attractions are spread out in the metro area and are easy to drive to. Avoid rush hour, when Orlando’s highways – especially Interstate 4 – become parking lots for several hours each day. And note that taking side streets isn’t a reliable option. You can easily pick up a rental car at Orlando International Airport or various city locales.
