What is a 50 CLEP score equivalent to?

The American Council on Education (ACE) recommends a credit-granting score of 50 for each CLEP exam. This is a scaled score, equivalent to earning a C in the relevant course. The corresponding raw score (number of questions answered correctly) is determined after a panel of college faculty who teach the equivalent course perform a detailed and rigorous review of exam content.

The panel of faculty also recommend a scaled score that is equivalent to a grade of B. Although most colleges and universities use the ACE-recommended credit-granting score and ACE does not recommend this B score, it’s provided to some schools that print grade equivalents for CLEP exams on student transcripts or some highly specialized programs that require a higher passing score.

The recommended B-level score for each exam is shown below.

What are the secrets of CLEP?

CLEP College Composition Exam Secrets Study Guide: CLEP Test Review for the College Level Examination Program (Mometrix Secrets Study Guides) Pap/Psc Edición Our Study Guide for the CLEP Test Is Unlike Any Other If you’d like to get the CLEP test score you deserve, to quit worrying about whether your score on the CLEP test is “good enough,” and to beat the test taking game, then this might be the most important message you read this year.

  • Our comprehensive study guide for the CLEP test is written by our CLEP test experts, who painstakingly researched the topics and the concepts that you need to know to do your best on the CLEP test.
  • Our original research into the College Level Examination Program (CLEP), offered by the College Board, reveals the specific content areas and the essential skills that are critical for you to know on the CLEP test.

We’ve taken the information and developed a study guide that is guaranteed to help you be successful on the CLEP test. Regardless of which CLEP test you have to take- you have come to the right place. Here you will find everything you need to know in order to be successful and pass your test.

  • Now, we know you may be skeptical, so let us give you three good reasons we can back up what we claim:
  • The Three Reasons To Believe What We Say
  • The First Reason:

Our company’s name is Mometrix Test Preparation, and we have a team of standardized test researchers who have worked on developing our study guide for the CLEP test. The standards for who gets to work on the team are very strict- we demand the best for our customers, and only those who met our exacting standards made the cut.

The dedicated research staff have years of combined experience in mastering the content and skills necessary to succeed on the toughest exams. The Second Reason: Some academic studies have revealed that test takers do not really benefit from the traditional test preparation process. But we knew there had to be a solution- if test takers were not doing well on the CLEP test despite high intelligence, there had to be a set of secret keys to the test that would open the door of success for these test takers.

We believe we have succeeded in finding the secret keys of the exam. What we found was surprising, and in some cases ridiculously simple once explained to the average test taker.

  1. We put the findings together in a thorough, concise study guide that we believe allows any test taker, at any skill level, to improve his or her results dramatically with a minimum of effort,
  2. The Third Reason:
  3. We created the product in part because we were frustrated by the options available to test takers who really wanted to do well on the CLEP test.

A common approach is to TEACH the material, instead of TEACHING THE TEST. That’s not necessarily good enough for the CLEP test- you have to know how to apply the knowledge. Most test takers already have a general knowledge of the material that will be covered on the exam.

One reason some test takers do well on the day of the test is that they have made the critical connection between the material they learned and how to use the material to succeed on the CLEP test. Our guide addresses the difference between merely knowing the material and knowing how to use the material to perform on test day,

You’re going to save time, money, and aggravation. You’ll learn to avoid the mistakes and the bad strategies that you’ve been vulnerable to. – Just for starters, here are some ways our product can help your score on the CLEP test. The Exclusive Test Taking Techniques

  • Explains how the CLEP test time limits are the #1 enemy of most test takers, and what you can do about it- You avoid falling into the many “time traps” built into the test, giving you an immeasurable advantage over those who go into the test unaware
  • Shows you super speed methods to get through the questions you know with ease- Saving you time so you concentrate on the hardest questions without rushing
  • Get quick, customized help for the questions you have- just send us a quick email and we’ll get back to you promptly with the answer.
  • Keys to questions that “give away” the wrong (or right) answers- You get credit for some of the questions without really even knowing anything about them
  • Details the EXACT STUDY PLAN for the CLEP test that we believe gives the most results in the least time- No matter if you’re studying for a week or a month, you won’t waste the precious study time you have on useless activities
  • Our researchers are more than just academic theoreticians who understand the technical nature of standardized tests, but are also experts on test taking itself- they reveal the exact skills and the information you’ll need to perform under pressure during the test.
  • A systematic analysis and the best breakdown into “plain language” of how to deconstruct and master complex problems- You turn the problems that most of the test takers will stumble over to your advantage

  • How the problem of procrastination can kill your chance of success, and the most important thing you can do about it
  • How to know when you’ve studied as much as you need to for the exam- and the reason why we think some people should spend LESS time studying for the test
  • The Top 20 things you should take care of within 24 hours of taking the test- use the list we provide as a checklist to make sure you’ve taken care of the “little things” in addition to studying hard
  • How to predict the right answer before you see the answer choices- and how to prevent the wrong answers from “polluting” your mind and tempting you into a trap designed by the test writers –
  • Why answers that “sound” correct are often the very ones that are wrong- and how to tell the difference between the right answer and the many clever-sounding traps set for you by the test writers
  • Do you know what a “hedge phrase” is? Learn why looking for the key “weasel words” in the question can help identify the correct answer
  • Why “new information” in the answer choices almost always means that the answer choice is wrong- and the way to avoid this trick planted by the clever test writers
  • Learn to avoid this time-draining mistake on the test – why the technical terms you don’t know can be a major stumbling block and waste precious time, and the way that you can work around them
  • The secret to using the contextual clues in the questions and the answer choices to make important distinctions between the right and the wrong answer choices
  • The two situations where you should NOT check your answers thoroughly
  • How to avoid careless mistakes by using the quick “double check” system. It will more than pay for itself relative to the time it will take you
  • Test writers will often quote directly from the question in an answer- learn whether this is something you should trust or avoid
  • Why “extreme statements” in the answer choices are dead giveaways for wrong answers- find out how to detect the subtle differences between reasonable answers and the answers that are almost always wrong
  • Learn how to group your answer choices into “families” that often narrows down the pool of correct answers- this is a quick way to immediately eliminate one or two of the answer choices and increase your odds of getting the question right Now, you’re probably wondering how and why we can do all the things we claim. Let us explain. Before we go any further, let us clarify what CLEP Exam Secrets is not. It is not a stale rehash of all of the things you have already learned in the past. What is the easiest class to CLEP?

How to Pick the Right CLEP Exam for You – CLEP exams are an awesome time- and money-saving college strategy, but there are some important things to consider before signing up to take a CLEP exam. Your Strengths: One of the most important factors to recognize about CLEP exams is that they’re subjective.

The easiest CLEP exam for one person is potentially the most difficult for another. For example, College Composition Modular and Analyzing & Interpreting Literature both have reputations for being among the easiest CLEP exams, but non-native English speakers might find them difficult. Conversely, a student with an aptitude for numbers might breeze through the CLEP Calculus exam, one of the CLEP exams typically considered among the most challenging.

Prior Knowledge: The basis of CLEP exams is to test the knowledge that you already possess, so a good way to choose the right CLEP exam for you is to look at the coursework you’ve already completed. If you’ve taken an advanced biology or chemistry class, taking a CLEP exam in one of those subjects makes sense.

  1. Similarly, if you took an honors American History class, you might be well positioned to pass one of the U.S.
  2. History CLEP exams.
  3. Of course, just because CLEP exams test knowledge you already possess, it doesn’t mean you have an excuse not to study.
  4. Failing the test will cost you money and time—there is a three-month waiting period if you need to retake an exam.

College CLEP Policies: Before signing up for a CLEP exam, you’ll want to check the CLEP policy at the schools you’re applying for to make sure they will award credit for a qualifying score—otherwise, the time, effort, and money spent on the exam is wasted.

  1. Roughly 2,900 U.S.
  2. Colleges accept CLEP exams, which means about 2,400 do not.
  3. Course Requirements: Just as you want to ensure a college will grant credit for a CLEP exam, you’ll also want to pursue CLEP exams that are useful for your major.
  4. CLEP policies vary from school to school; some institutions place limits on how many credits they grant via CLEP exams and some schools require that prerequisite classes are taken on campus.

Play it safe, and study up on the CLEP policy of the school and program you’re applying to, before signing up for an exam.

CLINICAL LEGAL EDUCATION PROGRAM (CLEP) – The Clinical Legal Education Program (CLEP) of the College pertains to the subjects Law 127 and Law 128 of 4 units each, in the law curriculum, where all students are required to render 60 hours for a total of 120 hours in two semesters.

OLA – The Office of Legal Aid (OLA) is the public service unit of the College where all students are required to undergo 60 hours of service. OLA provides legal assistance and services to indigent members of the community within the National Capital Judicial Region. Law Firm Practice – The Law Internship Center provides students with practical knowledge in fee-based practice in litigation, appellate work, corporate documentation, corporate structuring, taxation, estate settlement, property, contract review, and other areas of the practice of law. Environment – The Environment clinic immerses students in environmental issues and familiarizes them with procedures relating to filing of environmental cases and enforcement of pertinent laws and decisions on environmental cases. Work for the Clinic includes policy research and formulation in matters relating to environmental protection. Civil and Political Rights – With FLAG as partner, students are exposed to handling cases relating to civil and political rights that address basic freedoms, governmental actions interfering with citizens’ rights, and political issues. Work includes pleading writing, assistance in court cases and argumentation, client handling, and constitutional law research. Government Practice – Students are given an externship under the Republic’s only law firm — the Office of Solicitor General (OSG) — and are exposed to various issues and matters in which the protection of State interest is vital. It is expected that students will be made to work on pleadings, attend hearings, and participate in classroom-style learning experiences. Competition Law – Starting second semester of AY 2019-2020, students are now able to gain direct and practical experience in legal issues and matters concerning competition law through a partnership with the Philippine Competition Commission (PCC). Work for the Clinic includes both support in relation to the Commission’s adjudicatory function, and as a legislative liaison, specifically reviewing of competition laws and lobbying with Congress.

The OLA administers the clinical education program of the College. It provides free legal assistance to indigent litigants, and takes on public interest cases. Senior year law students are required to put in 126 hours of practicum handling cases in which they interview clients, draft pleadings and briefs, and appear in court under a Supervising Lawyer.

How Many Hours a Day Should I Practice Spanish? – xavierarnau / E+/ Getty Images If you’re serious about becoming fluent in Spanish, you’ll need to commit to practicing regularly. But how many hours a day should you practice? The answer may vary depending on your level of Spanish and your goals for Spanish practice:

  • For beginners, it’s important to focus on mastering the basics. Aim to spend at least an hour a day practicing basic conversation skills.
  • Once you’ve reached a intermediate level, you can start studying grammar and vocabulary for two or three hours a day.
  • If you’re already proficient in Spanish and just want to keep your skills sharp, an hour of practice each day should suffice.

No matter how much time you spend practicing, it’s also important to make sure that your practice is effective. That means studying with quality materials, usingnative speakers when possible, and setting aside time for review and practice with new material.

How many hours do you need to study Spanish?

What the Experts Say about Learning Spanish Quickly – The reality, however, is this, the average person who wants to learn Spanish is really looking for conversational fluency–not native fluency. That is, they want the ability to visit a Spanish-speaking country and be able to communicate with everyone they meet.

  • Or, using Spanish at the workplace, or just being able to communicate with the new neighbors from El Salvador.
  • Frankly, each scenario presented requires a different level of Spanish.
  • According to best-selling author and podcaster, Tim Ferris, ” To understand 95% of a language and become conversationally fluent may require months of applied learning; to reach the 98% threshold could require 10 years.” Many people will read this and be intimidated by it.

Who has that kind of time? Especially if your work contract is only five years. However, Tim, himself, has a post on his blog: How to Learn Any Language in 3 Months. So there’s that. Then there is the study. According to an FSI study, i.e. the Foreign Service Institute, it should take a new learner approximately 600 classroom hours to achieve conversational fluency in Spanish.

How are CLEP essays scored?

Overview – The College Composition exam uses multiple-choice questions and essays to assess writing skills taught in most first-year college composition courses. Those skills include analysis, argumentation, synthesis, usage, ability to recognize logical development, and research. The College Composition exam has a total testing time of 125 minutes and contains:

50 multiple-choice questions to be answered in 55 minutes 2 essays to be written in 70 minutes

Essays are scored twice a month by college English faculty from throughout the country via an online scoring system. Each essay is scored by at least two different readers, and the scores are then combined. This combined score is weighted equally with the score from the multiple-choice section.

These scores are then combined to yield the test taker’s score. The resulting combined score is reported as a single scaled score between 20 and 80. Separate scores are not reported for the multiple-choice and essay sections. Note: Although scores are provided immediately upon completion for other CLEP exams, scores for the College Composition exam are available to test takers one to two weeks after the test date.
